About Dibek Coffee

Unlike what is widely believed, Dibek coffee is not the name of a specific coffee brewing method. The main feature of dibek coffee is that the roasted coffee beans are crushed by hand in a stone or wooden mortar called dibek. In this way, the ground coffee beans can obtain slightly coarser texture the beans that are ground in a coffee mill.
Actually, dibek coffee is not a way of brewing coffee, but a method of grinding coffee. The roasted coffee is placed in a round and hollow stone or wooden mortar and crushed with a mallet until it becomes thin. The coffee produced is cooked like Turkish coffee. Coffee ground with this method becomes thick and gets the name of dibek coffee.
